The Siagnole Fountain

This bronze statue was installed on an already existant spring. The Siagnole Fountain, in the Town Hall square. Is a replica of a IIIrd century B.C statue which is displayed in the Candelabrum Gallery of the Vatican .We know nothing of the conception of this statue nor of it’s arrival in Bagnols.

During the last century it was stolen but before that happened the boy had been decorated with a wine-leaf. This Siagnole fountain is one of four remaining in the village. Originally there had been more than thirty.

The others fountains are situated :
- Lower down the main street.
- Placette du gros mur “ropanicéa”.
- In the square “place du rond”

There is another newly installed fountain in the Square F.Poulenc, behind the church.
This was installed in 2005 when the new car-park was created there.

Celle du Square Poulenc a été nouvellement installée en 2005 lors de l’aménagement du parking de l’église.
